Q - How do I dial open a combination safe lock?

A - Assuming you have the correct combination, do the following.  ** Sentry safes dial differently **

 For a three-number combination lock, do the following.

ØTurn the dial counter-clockwise (to the left) at least four times and stop on the first number.

ØThen turn the dial clockwise (to the right) three times and stop on the second number. Remember that every time you pass the number it counts as a turn.

ØThen turn the dial counter- clockwise ( to the left) two times and stop on the last    number.

ØThen turn the dial clockwise (to the right) until it comes to a full stop.

The lock is now unlocked. Turn the handle on the safe and pull the door open.

Dialing Tips:  Make sure that you can clearly see the numbers on the dial.

Do not spin the dial in a quick, jerky movement, but use a smooth and even turning speed.  Fast spinning can cause a wheel to slip the number it has been set on and cause problems opening.

Stop exactly on the number lining it up with the opening index, found at the 12 o’clock position.

Q - How do I care for the safe lock?

A - Do not hit or abuse the lock physically.

Do not slam the safe door.

Do not spray lubricant in the lock.

If the lock becomes difficult to operate and open do not lock up the safe.  You should call for service. Leave the door open and have the safe lock serviced as soon as possible.
